Singing Schools

This page is devoted to Singing Schools.   Shaped note singing has been going on for many years.  The home of modern day southern gospel class singing is Lawrenceburg, TN, which was the home of the James D. Vaughn Publishing Company.   V.O  and Frank Stamps, and "Pap" Baxter made singing schools famous from Dallas, with the Stamps and Stamps-Baxter music schools.  If you cannot attend, send a  child from your church.  Or better yet, take him or her.

Brockwell, AR, starts 2nd Monday in June every year. We've been teaching at Brockwell,Arkansas for 57 years.

The school overlooks the white beaches of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  It is non-denominational and includes both girls and boys dorms, classroom building, auditorium, and practice studios. The cafeteria serves three meals a day seven days a week.  Call for information regarding dates and tuition.
